Save Instagram pictures and whole carousels at the largest size Instagram stores

Tip: type @username to see and save all of an account's active stories
  • No login
  • No watermark
  • Original quality

Instagram does not let you save someone else’s photo, and a screenshot gives you the screen rather than the picture — cropped to your display and squeezed through a second compression. Paste the post link here and you get the stored image file instead.

How to use it

  1. Copy the post link. Open the photo post (not the profile grid) and choose Copy link from the ⋯ menu.
  2. Paste it above. The picture, or every slide of a carousel, appears as a preview.
  3. Pick size and format. Download the full-size file, or choose a smaller size or JPG.

Choose the size before you download

Instagram keeps several copies of every picture. For a square post that is usually 1440, 1080, 750 and 640 pixels wide. The largest is the one to keep when you plan to print, crop or archive; the smaller ones load faster in chats and e-mails. Each option lists its file size, so the choice is not a guess.

Portrait and landscape photos keep their original aspect ratio — nothing is cropped to a square.

JPG when WebP gets in the way

Instagram increasingly delivers WebP, which some older editors, print-shop upload forms and office suites refuse. The JPG button converts the picture on the server and gives you a genuine JPG file, not a renamed WebP.

Carousels and multi-photo posts

A carousel post opens as a grid of its slides. Every photo has its own button, so you can pick out a single slide, or use Download all to save the full set one after another. Video slides in the same post are shown alongside the photos.

Keeping track of what you saved

The file name includes the account handle, so pictures from different creators do not end up as a pile of anonymous numbers. The result card also shows the caption, publish date and location when the post has them — copy those alongside the picture if you are collecting references, recipes or product shots.

Instagram removes most metadata from uploaded photos, including camera details and GPS coordinates. The file you download is the cleaned copy Instagram serves, not the photographer’s original.

Frequently asked questions

What is the highest resolution I can get?

Whatever Instagram stores — often 1440 px wide for recent posts and 1080 px for older ones. DLGram never upscales.

Can I download all photos from a carousel at once?

Yes. Use Download all under the carousel grid, or save individual slides with their own buttons.

Why is my download a .webp file?

That is the format Instagram delivered. Choose JPG if the program you use does not open WebP.

Can I download photos from a whole profile?

Not in bulk. DLGram works post by post; type an @username to see the profile card and active stories.
