DLGram vs Saveclip — Breadth or Depth?

Updated August 2026

These two are not chasing the same job. Saveclip presents itself, as of 2026, as a multi-platform saver: one address taking TikTok, Facebook, X and Instagram links alike. DLGram takes Instagram and refuses everything else. The useful question is what one network done thoroughly gives you that four done adequately cannot — and when the trade runs the other way.

The cost of covering four networks

Every platform stores media differently. Instagram alone has photos, carousels, reels, longer video, vanishing stories, Highlights, and a profile surface with avatar, follower count and verified badge. A tool serving four networks needs an interface general enough for all of them: a link box, one result, one button. That is not laziness but the shape that fits four data models at once.

A single-network tool has no such constraint. Whether Saveclip surfaces any particular Instagram detail we have not tested, so the table lists things to verify with a link of your own.

What depth looks like in practice

A quality ladder with weights. Video comes at 1080P, 720P, 480P, 360P and 240P, each row carrying its file size, as does the download button — an informed choice rather than a gamble on a metered connection. Nothing is re-encoded: you get the MP4 with H.264 video Instagram already stored.

A photo size chooser. Images have their own ladder — 1440×1440 at roughly 553 KB, 1080×1080 at 176 KB, 750×750 at 114 KB, 640×640 at 74 KB.

WebP handled for you. Instagram often serves photos as WebP, which still trips up some software; a save-as-JPG button converts it server-side.

Carousels as a grid. A multi-item post appears as a grid of up to 20 entries with a download-all button. Browsers ask permission before a page saves several files at once.

Account mode. Type @username instead of a link for a profile card — high-resolution avatar, display name, follower count, verified badge — plus whatever stories are live, and it works when none are. Public accounts only; private accounts are never supported, and downloading never puts you in a viewers list.

When breadth simply wins

If a normal week has you pulling a TikTok clip, a Facebook video and an Instagram reel, one bookmark that takes all three beats three bookmarks with better ladders. Muscle memory is a real feature: one layout, one button. Anyone tired of remembering which site handles which link should take the general tool — depth only pays on the network you use most.

What DLGram does not do

No audio-only MP3 export yet, and a whole Highlight collection cannot be pulled in one click — individual Highlight items work fine. Roughly 20 requests a minute triggers a short cooldown. Otherwise: six interface languages (English, Uzbek, Russian, Turkish, Indonesian, Arabic), no account or install, and no size ceiling — past about 40 MB the file goes to your browser's download manager. Four networks and one bookmark, or one network with the ladders, the grid and the profile card? If the second, start with a link you have.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can DLGram download from TikTok, Facebook or X?

No — Instagram only. If your week involves clips from several networks, a multi-platform saver such as Saveclip is the sensible bookmark.

What photo sizes can I choose?

Usually several edge lengths, each with its weight — for example 1440×1440 at about 553 KB, 1080×1080 at 176 KB, 750×750 at 114 KB and 640×640 at 74 KB.

Why did my image arrive as a .webp file?

Instagram frequently serves photos as WebP, which some editors and office software still refuse. A save-as-JPG button converts it on the server, so what lands is an ordinary .jpg.

How is a carousel post handled?

As a grid of up to 20 entries, photos and videos mixed as the post has them, with a download-all button. Your browser asks permission first, since that is a multi-file download.

What does typing @username do?

It opens account mode: a profile card with high-resolution avatar, display name, follower count and verified badge, plus any stories live at that moment — and it works when none are. Public accounts only.

Can a story be recovered after 24 hours?

No. Once its 24 hours are up the story is gone from Instagram, and no tool can fetch what the platform no longer serves. That is a limit of the source.
